Vintage king bed are larger than full beds, but smaller than king size beds. If you bought a double bed for your bedroom, you need to measure the bed. King size beds can actually have small variations in size, especially when it comes to the depth of the bed. These dimensions are needed to buy discs that fit properly with the bed. Sheets that do not fit can bunch or loosen during the night.
Use measuring tape to measure the length of your vintage double bed. Write down the number in inches because this will be what is written on the bedding package when you go to buy them. A standard double bed is about 80 inches long. Measure the width of the king bed with your tape measure. Note the measurement in inches on your paper. A standard double bed is 60 inches wide.
Choose one of the corners of your bed to measure depth. This is sometimes called “pocket size” on the bedding package. Measure from the top of the corner to the bottom. Mark this measurement down on your paper. King bed measurement can range from 9 inches to 16 inches. It is probably the most important measure of buying discs that fit properly.
